Argentina are an ordinary team: Wilmots
Belgium boss Marc Wilmots dismissed Argentina as an "ordinary team" despite his side's 1-0 defeat in the teams' World Cup quarterfinal in Brasilia, reports ESPNFC.
Although an early goal from Gonzalo Higuain put Argentina in control and Belgium could not find a way back into the game, Wilmots said Alejandro Sabella's team had taken a negative approach.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. "We were not impressed by the Argentinians," he said. "They were just an ordinary team. They can distort the rhythm -- they take 30 seconds to take a throw-in and the referee doesn't do anything.
"They had the goal, and [Lionel] Messi was one-on-one with [Thibaut] Courtois at the end, but how many shots have they had? If I played that way I would have been destroyed by the Belgium press.
"They didn't give us any space, this was a World Cup quarterfinal and their extra experience probably counted for something."
