Pro-BNP men attack RU employees

Earlier, on Wednesday, RU Officer and Karmachari Oikya Parishad leaders met with Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Mamnunul Keramat and urged him to meet their five-point demand by July 23 otherwise they will observe five day long work abstention programme on the campus.

Their demands include immediate confirmation of the jobs of 31 employees who were appointed on January 15, 2002, extending age limit of service up to 65 years and cancelling the decision of cutting 20 per cent pension.

Sources said RU Pro VC assured them that RU authorities would fulfil their demand steps by steps.

Sources also said some pro-BNP officers and employees of RU yesterday distributed leaflets among officers and employees at the administration building against the work abstention and attacked the 4th class employees in front of RU ProVC office.
