An online shopping mall
Utshob.com, an e-commerce based website for online shopping went in operation on August 14 through joint-launching ceremonies organised in USA and Bangladesh on the same day. Sabur Khan, managing director, Daffodil Computers was present as the chief guest on the event for its launch.
While addressing the press, Mirza RN Propel, chief advisor of RSS enterprise, the developers of the website, informed that credit card restriction within Bangladesh still do not facilitate online trading services. On this regard he mentioned the modes of payment as in cash on delivery as well as credit cards for the people overseas and shortly they plan to introduce cash cards as well.
RSS enterprise, a team of few non-resident Bangladeshis (NRB) and a local team managed by Propel have jointly taken up this initiative considered first of its kind to facilitate online trading for products and services between Bangladesh and United States.
At present they are only responding to the orders from USA to Bangladesh but they are scheduled to start their full operation from August 30, informed Propel when asked about their services. In Bangladesh they are currently operating in Chittagong, Sylhet and Dhaka.
The server for the website is being maintained in the USA and their presentation layer is still under a renovation process as it lacks a catchy outlook for the viewers.
Through this website, people living in USA can purchase local products over the internet and order them to deliver at their specified location and similarly people living in Bangladesh can also purchase local products available at the stores in USA and specify the address for delivery within USA.
Similar to the services provided by deshigreetings.com this website carries slightly a distinctive approach that allows locals to send products in the US.
