A new hunting ground for job seekers

Jobbangla.com, the latest job portal of the country, is offering dynamic approaches toward facilitating job search for prospective job seekers.

The site focuses on delivering additional benefits along with the regular facilities offered by other portals and sites in the concerned field, along with a forum that allows interactive discussions among the job-seekers.

Exchange of ideas, experience, sharing technical or managerial knowledge among the prospective users and eventually allowing a vast field of interaction between the members of the community, is the focus of the forum.

"We have worked in two segments to build the site," said Mir Mohammad Rezanul Islam, In-Charge (Technical), jobbangla.com. Shahin Lashkar, who is in charge of the commercial phase of the site, conceived the founding pillars of the site.

"We have gone from door-to-door in building a communication seeking affiliation from the local companies and universities. Currently, we have about forty-five companies listed as employers on the site," added Lashkar.

These companies range from local engineering firms to non-governmental organisations (both local and international), medical institutions, consultancy firms, banks and many more technical and commercial institutions. All these employers allow job seekers to view their vacancy-options, submit their respective curriculum vitae for reviewing, and in most cases, for a hiring event.

"We are working hard to make the site as convenient and client-beneficial as possible," said Islam. The developers are constantly ravaging through the local yellow pages so as to make contact with fresh companies.

Islam further pointed out that regular feedback from the employers, are encouraged and the portal is updated according to their valid demands.

The portal offers two kinds of job-alert via the site, both of which works through a search-engine linked with the portal's database. The uniqueness of the portal lies in the step through the first system, a list of the jobs 'matched to the search detail' are sent to a preset client e-mail address.

The second system converge all the categorised jobs into a mailbox available at the local web page, which opens up instantaneously as soon as the registered job-seeker signs in to the site.

"Currently, we are considering free registration processes for the job seekers and also for employers but there may be a certain charge applicable for the latter in the future," Islam predicted.

While the portal offers a categorised listing of available jobs from the employers, it also exclusively displays a nicely shaded map of the country, divided in its six major territories. After clicking on each sector, a new page will be displayed showing the jobs available in that particular region.

Additionally, high-profile jobs list are available with particular criterion and requirements for example ten years of major experience in hotel management, or fifteen years of similar experience in technical maintenance, for applying into that position.

Also, a high-profile position would be that of a deputy general manager, or an administrative manager, etc.

The site also offers a list of international jobsites, further enhancing user experience and bringing in versatility for the local user.

With all these promising aspects, the site has potential to compete against the existing job portals and sites, with proper and regular maintenance and update.
