Central government negotiators and leaders of the separatist National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) are expected to meet outside the country to discuss extension of a ceasefire aimed at ending nearly six decades of insurgency in Nagaland.

The NSCN-IM, led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah, has been engaged in peace talks after entering into a ceasefire with the Government in 1997. The ceasefire ends on July 31.
