As a further step toward spreading the country's information and technology (IT) news to the mass in home and abroad, the Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF) launched their website last week.

Science and ICT Minister Moin Khan unveiled the website on the concluding day of the BCS Computer Fair 2004 at the Bhashani Novo Theatre.

As far as looks are concerned, the site is pretty decent with light blue fonts on a clean background. This appearance of the site reflects the seriousness of the site.

The index contains useful links to various daily, weekly and monthly newspapers and magazines and the latest global ICT news and events.

The Members page holds name, designation, photographs and organizational information of the member journalists.

Information on upcoming and past events and seminars undertaken by BIJF since its initiation are available at the 'Activities' section. At present the Activities page displays the past IT events only. A list of possible future events, seminars and so on organised by BIJF will be maintained under this segment.

A list containing name and convenient contact details of committee members, foreign representatives and coordinators can be found in the 'members' link. Browsers can send their queries to BIJF by contacting them.

The site is impressive with useful links, contact information and details, that any association or forum would benefit from. If maintained and updated properly, this site could gain rapid popularity as far as IT news are concerned.
