Another battle of brains

The nation-wide programming competition, National Computer Programming Contest (NCPC) 2004 is expected to be held on December 3 and 4 at the Kumira Campus of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). This was announced at a press conference held on October 19 at the National Press Club.
Vice Chancellor of IIUC Dr A K M Azharul Islam and Dr Loqman, IIUC Dhaka campus chief were present at the conference.
This year's NCPC is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Science, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).
Sixty teams, having three members each, are expected to participate from different universities across the country.
Allocation of the number of teams per university will depend on the performances at the recently held ACM ICPC Regional Dhaka Site, 2004 contest.
Approximately 9-10 problems will be given within the span of 5 hours at the competition. The programming languages allowed in the contest are Visual C/C++ and Java (J2SDK1.4.2). Teams will be ranked according to the number of problems solved.
The top ten teams will be awarded prizes worth a grand total of tk 2 lakh.
Each participating team is required to pay a minimum registration fee of Taka two thousand. The last date of registration is November 23. More information can be found at the website, http://iiuc.ac.bd/ncpc2004/
