40 arrested while being trafficked to India
Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) personnel yesterday held 40 people, including girls and children, near Sadipur border while they were being trafficked to India.
The alleged traffickers managd to flee, police said.
BDR later handed them over to the Benapole police. They told police that they each paid the agents Tk 1500 to 2000 for employment abroad.
They further told police that the agents brought them from remote villages of Barisal, Jhalakati and Narail districts.
