Chinese journalist team visits Jatiya Press Club

A six-member Chinese journalist delegation led by Wei Mingxiang, executive secretary of the Secretariat of All China Journalists' Association (ACJA), visited the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) yesterday.

They exchanged views with the senior journalists at a meeting, with JPC Vice President Bakhtiar Rana in the chair.

Welcoming the Chinese delegation, JPC General Secretary Shaukat Mahmood said China and Bangladesh are tested and trusted friends as they have come a long way to establish strong relationship.

He hoped the relationship between the JPC and the ACJA would be strengthened in the days ahead.

"We have to work hard for economic development," said Wei Mingxian while underscoring the need for better understanding and increased cooperation between the two countries.

The members of the Chinese delegation included Zhou Baoyl of China Radio International, He Yanli of the Frontline, Bi Zheng of the Jilin Daily, Liu Zhengfei of the Real Estates Week, Beijing Daily Group, and Hu Hui, deputy chief of International Department, ACJA.

Senior journalists Hasanuz-zaman Khan, Gias Kamal Chowdhury, Alamgir Mohiuddin, Amanullah Kabir, Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Golam Tahaboor, Ziaul Huq, Abu Zafar Panna, Syed Fahim Munaim, Prof. Shakhawat Ali Khan, MA Aziz and Abdus Shahid were present at the meeting.
