Minto to die for killing businessman Nilu
The court also acquitted Sumon Datta of the charges.
Judge Md. Abu Hanif, after examining 14 prosecution witnesses, found Minto guilty and announced the judgement in a crowded courtroom.
Sumon was present before the court while Minto has been absconding. The verdict will be effective from the date of Minto's arrest.
The prosecution case in brief is that on December 12, 2001, some miscreants fired on Nilu, a businessman, when he was talking to his friends in front of the 'Shani Dev Mondir' near Dhaka judge's court. Victim's brother Sanjib Sur filed a murder case with Kotwali thana accusing Minto Ghosh and two others. Investigation officer submitted a charge sheet against Minto and Sumon on August 18.2002 and the court framed charges against them on June 10 this year.
