Resist 'misrule'of govt: 11 Party
The call came ahead of a series of countrywide agitation programmes to be enforced throughout the second half of this month.
The leaders criticised the government for harbouring the communal forces and for its compliance with the donors' unjust preconditions for financial aid.
"The most disquieting factor is the fundamentalist elements in the ruling coalition government," said 11 Party coordinator Rashed Khan Menon at a press briefing.
Referring to recent ammunition haul in Bogra, he said the Islamic militant groups were expanding their network across the country and could get away with their militancy because of their alleged links with the high-ups of the government.
"The government has laid off many industrial units such as Adamjee and Khulna newsprint mills and 75 per cent of the small industries in its two years of rule at the dictates of donors," Menon said.
President of Communist Party of Bangladesh Manzurul Ahsan Khan said, "We want to build up a third front as an alternative to the two-party repressive and anti-people rule."
As part of the agitation programmes, the 11 Party will hold public meetings in Khulna on October 14, in Rajshahi on October 15 and in Sirajganj on October 16.
Abdus Samad, Bazlur Rashid Firoz, Saifuddin Ahmed Manik and Azizul Islam Khan were present at the press briefing.
