Two killed, 1 electrocuted

One person was killed by robbers and another by unidentified assailants in two separate incidents in Chittagong district on Sunday. In a third incident the same day, another person was electrocuted at his house in Chittagong's Patherghata area.

A gang of twelve robbers stormed into the village home of Nurul Haq Sowdagar in South Hashimpur, Chandanaish Upazila and looted valuables worth over Tk. 50,000 at around 2:00 am on Sunday. The robbers shot Sowdagar's son, Iqbal Ahmed, an employee of a pharmaceutical company, in the thigh as he tried to resist them.

Relatives rushed the seriously-wounded Iqbal to Chandanaish Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead at 3.30 am. A case has been filed in this connection with the Chandanaish Police Station.

In the second killing, police said some miscreants came to the Bahaddarhat bus terminal in Chandgaon Thana in a microbus at around 11.00 pm and dropped off the body of an unidentified youth, aged around 28, before fleeing. Police suspect the unidentified youth was murdered by the miscreants.

In the third incident, Md. Selim, 30, son of Abdul Latif, was electrocuted at around 11:45 am while mending some electronic works in his house, police said, quoting relatives of the deceased.
