Judgement in Nilufer murder case tomorrow
Hossain Shahid Ahmad, Judge of the Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court Dhaka will pronounce the verdict at 1:00 pm, court sources said.
Both the prosecution and the defence completed their arguments on August 27.
Earlier, the court recorded statements of 16 out of 24 prosecution witnesses. The court also recorded statements of six defence witnesses.
Nilufer Rashid, 25, a meritorious law student of Dhaka University and daughter of a retired Judge, was killed at her husband's North Bashabo residence on December 2, 1992.
Victim's husband Engineer Kazi Mahbuddin filed a murder case with Subujbagh thana accusing his domestic help Belal the same day.
Victim's father filed another case with the same thana accusing Mahbub and Belal.
Later, Belal gave a confessional statement before a metropolitan magistrate being pressurised by Mahbub but his statement was retracted later and Belal divulged the facts before magistrate.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) submitted a charge sheet accusing Mahbub and Belal on April 22, 1995.
The court framed charges against them on January 1, 1997.
The trial of the case began on June 14, 1998.
