RU farewell rally postponed by Shibir threat

The ICS, the student front of Jamaat-e-Islami, barricaded the Motihar Hall road with benches when the colourful rally was marching on the road.

The RU unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) termed the barricade an intentional step, as the ICS activists could not get any chance to head the hall Samapony committee.

Samapony convenor and JCD leader Ruhul Kuddus told newsmen that it was a pre-planned event, as the ICS could not establish supremacy at the hall.

The ICS claimed that participants of the rally teased female students of Munnujan Hall while crossing the hall gate.

RU Proctor Shamsul Alam confirmed the report and said the authorities postponed the rally following the wrangling with the ICS to avoid any untoward incident.
