Judgements in Bushra murder case today, Don case tomorrow

Bushara, 18, a first year Honours student of City College, was raped and killed by unidentified criminals at their residence at Hazipara in the city on June 1, 2000. She was daughter of Serajul Islam, a retired assistant superintendent of police.

Police pressed charges against five persons including Abdul Kader, relief and social welfare secretary of the Awami League's city unit.

Judge Sarkar Mansor Ahmed completed hearing on June 17 in absence of the accused.

Meanwhile, the verdict in child Don murder case will be pronounced tomorrow.

Don was strangled allegedly by his brother-in-law Ripon following a scuffle with his wife on February 29, 2002.

The Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 fixed the date after examining 17 witnesses.
