Jahanara Imam's anniversary of death today

Jahanara Imam, who lost her son in the War of Liberation, led a vigorous movement against war criminals in early 1990s. Under her leadership, a mock trial of war criminals was held in a 'people's court' on March 26, 1992.

Leaders and activists of Ekatturer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee will place wreaths at the grave of Jahanara Imam at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard at 8am.

The discussion on "Minority, Communalism and Human Rights", organised by the Nirmul Committee, will be held at 4pm at the WVA Auditorium, Dhanmondi.

Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina in a message paid rich tributes to Jahanara Imam and urged the people to take a fresh vow for restoring democracy and good governance in the country.
