24.77 pc pass degree exams

The university published the results yesterday. The percentage of pass is 24.77.

A total of 1,81,113 students appeared in the examination this year and 44,862 of them came out successful. Among the successful candidates, 17,179 are female students.

The number of students who got first division is 589 while 25,795 students got second division and 17,837 third division.

Course-wise pass percentages are: BA - 24.50 per cent, BSS - 24.62 per cent, B Sc - 19.08 per cent, B Com - 28.77 per cent, B Mus - 38.10 per cent and certificate course - 41 per cent.

Mohammad Samsuddin, a BSc student of Nazirhat College, Chittagong topped the combined merit list with 751 marks to his credit.

Mohammad Mominul Islam, a BSc student of Mollah Azad Memorial College, Naogaon bagged the second position securing 744 marks.

Mohammad Shahidul Islam, a BA student of Govt. BL College, Khulna and Mohammad Abdul Kuddus, also a BA student of Habibullah Bahar College, Dhaka shared the third position obtaining 717 marks each.

The course-wise merit lists are as follows:

BA -- Md Shahidul Islam of Govt BL College, Khulna and Md Abdul Quddus of Habibulla Bahar College, Dhaka, (first); Maksudur Rahman Mridha of Govt Devendra College, Manikganj, (second); and Mohammad Mostaque Ahmed of Victoria College, Comilla (third).

BSS -- Shyamal Sarkar of Notre Dame College, Dhaka, (first); Afroza of Kapasia College, Gazipur, (second) and Kamruzzaman of Bhawal Mirzapur College, Gazipur, (third).

B Sc -- Mohammad Samsuddin of Nazirhat College, Chittagong, (first); Md Muminul Islam of Molla Azad Memorial College, Naogaon, (second); and Md Jamal Uddin of Nazirhat College, Chittagong and Jahangir Alam of Tejgaon College, Dhaka (third).

B Com -- Md Abdul Quddus of Govt Commerce College, Chittagong, (first); Sohdev Kumar Das of Dhaka City College, (second); and Iftekhar Uddin of Dhaka City College (third).

B Mus -- Md Mahmudul Hasan (first); Md Sazzat Kabir (second), and Junaid Mia (third) all from Govt. Music College, Dhaka.
