15 cows smuggled from India seized in Tetulia

Police today said they seized 15 Indian cows from a house at Bhutipukur-Sipaipara in Panchagarh's Tetulia. They were smuggled into the country from India.

The smugglers escaped before a police team went to the scene and no one was arrested in connection with the smuggling, said Abu Sayem Mia, officer-in-charge of Tetulia Police Station.

"We received information through the Nation Hotline Number 999 that 15 smuggled cows from India were kept at a house and based on that we raided the house," said the OC.

A case will be filed in this connection, reports our Thakurgaon correspondent quoting the OC.
