Dealing with end-of-semester stress

As the 6-month semester comes to end, most of us students find ourselves drowning under the pressure of presentations, assignments, and finals. Instead of writing angsty posts on Facebook about how university is slowly killing you, follow these tips and learn to better manage your time.

Make a calendar

You may have seen many aesthetically pleasing pictures of bullet journals and planners on Instagram. While you don't have to put an extra hour into making your lists look good, you should still make a list of things that are due. I have seen people forget exam dates, and then missing those exams. You don't want to get an F without even getting a chance to try.

Follow a time table

Routines aren't fun, they're boring. But this stressful period will only get worse if you don't get organised. Fix specific amounts of time each day for studying, writing term papers, or making slides.

Do one thing at a time

Do not try to write assignments and study for a final at the same time. Prioritise your work and do the most important task first. Switching between two equally difficult tasks will give you unsatisfactory results in both.

Get enough sleep

Always being tired is not a trophy that you should wear proudly. The more pressure you put on yourself, the sooner you will burn out. Try to sleep for at least 6 hours every day. You become slow when you're tired, so you will see a clear difference in the quality of your work when you're not exhausted 24/7.

Now get to work like the responsible adult that you are, and deal with your stress instead of sharing 50 memes about being stressed out.
