Robbers loot expat's house
Robbers stormed into the house of an expatriate at Dakkhin Udakhali village in Phulchhari upazila early yesterday, beat up six family members and took away money, gold ornaments and other valuables.
Police quoted family members as saying that a gang of about 30 armed robbers entered the house of Azadul Islam by breaking the window grill of the bathroom at around 3:00am.
Azadul Islam returned home from Saudi Arabia recently.
The gang beat up Azad and five others, confined them to a room at gunpoint and looted Tk one lakh, 20 tolas of gold and other valuables from the house.
Injured Azad, 28, Abdul Majid, 55, Ajena Begum,45, Sajeda Begum, 24, Morsheda Akhter,20, Abu Muhuri,55, were admitted to Fulchari Upazila Health Complex.
Contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Mannan Phulchhari PS said law enforcers are raiding different areas to arrest the robbers and recover the looted money and goods.
