Two Bangladeshis hurt as BSF opens fire
Two Bangladeshi cattle traders were injured as Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on them near Masudpur frontier in Shibganj upazila on Friday night.
The victims were identified as Mohammad Dulal, 24, son of Shafiqul Islam of Ghughudanga village and Shafiqul Islam, 22, son of Sadek Ali of Shaympur-Sahapara village under the upazila.
BSF men at Daulatpur camp under 20 Battalion in Maldah of Paschimbanga fired on the cattle traders at around 10:45pm when they approached the border to collect cattle, said Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and locals.
Injured Dulal and Shafiqul were admitted to Maldah General Hospital. Major Abu Nayem, Operation Officer of 9 BGB battalion in the district said, Dulal received bullet in his hand and Shafiqul in the leg.
Earlier, BSF personnel shot and injured Mister alias Ahmed, 20, son of Ebadul of Tarapur-Sahapara village under Monakasha union of Shibganj upazila on September 10.
The Indian border force also beat-up and injured cattle trader Mohammad Mukul, 27, son of Khalaf Ali of Parchouka village taking him to Daulatpur camp in Maldah, opposite to Chouka frontier in Shibganj upazila on September 25.
