Assaulted in office, Narail sub-registrar sues 8 BCL men
A sub-registrar filed a case against the district Chhatra League (BCL) secretary and seven other leaders and activists of the ruling party backed student front on Friday for beating him up mercilessly at his office room on September 27.
Staffs at the registrar office and police said a gang of 7-8 cadres, led by district Chhatra League secretary Soumen Bosu along with others entered into the office building and confined sub-registrar Zahidul Islam to his room.
They beat him up with iron rods and threatened other staffs of dire consequences if they tried to resist them.
Being informed, Narail Sadar police rushed to the spot and arrested BCL activist Tuhin, 19, with a sharp weapon while the others manage to fled the scene.
Zahidul Islam alleged that Goutam Bosu, father of Somen Bosu, was a deed writer at his office. When Goutam submitted a deed without necessary papers, he refused to registrar it.
'This angered him and later his son Soumen Bosu along with 7-8 party cadres assaulted me', said Zahidul.
They also took away a few other deeds and necessary official documents, he further said.
Rafiqul Islam, officer in-charge of Narail police station said that as soon they heard the news, a police team rushed to the spot and held one cadre with a weapon.
Sub-registrar Zahidul Islam filed a case with this PS against Soumen and 7 other BCL leaders and activists on Friday, he said.
