Siblings jailed in drug case
A mobile court convicted two siblings and sentenced them to six months imprisonment each for possessing contraband hemp at Noapara in Abhoynagar upazila of Jessore yesterday morning. The convicts are Baten, 28, and his younger brother Russell, 25, of the upazila. On secret information, Abhoynagar thana police conducted a drive in the area in the early morning and arrested them along with 20 small packets of hemp. Later, they were produced before the mobile court led by executive magistrate Biswas Russell Hossain who handed down the punishment.
