Extortionists stab trader
Extortionists slabbed a cloth vendor in Madina Market area of the city on Saturday for his refusal to pay tolls.
The injured was identified as Zillur Rahman, 28, son of late Aftab Mia of Uttar Baghbari area of the city.
Sources said some extortionists demanded money from the victim a few days ago. Being failed to realise the money, the gang intercepted his rickshaw van in the area at about 3:30pm and hacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. A case was filed.
