Prisoner flees police custody
An under trial prisoner escaped from police custody at the district court premises on Friday night. Inspector Younus Ali said Zakir Hossain, accused in a robbery case, was produced before the court at about 6:30pm. At one stage, he managed to flee the scene taking advantage of the huge crowd. Drive is on to arrest the escapee, said Younus. Md Rafiqul Hossain, officer in-charge of Kanaighat police station, said police arrested Zakir from Kaliganj area in Zakiganj upazila on Thursday night.
