DCCs get CEOs

The government yesterday reshuffled the civil administration to appoint chief executive officers (CEO) to the just separated Dhaka city corporations and to post some senior bureaucrats who were officers on special duty (OSD). Director General of National Academy for Primary Education Nurul Islam has been made CEO of DCC North and joint secretary of information ministry Sultan Ul Islam CEO of DCC South, according to a PID handout. Meanwhile, director of Printing and Publication Directorate Abu Sayed Sheikh and deputy secretary of Roads Division Golam Mostafa Khan have been transferred to DCC North as secretary and principal revenue officer respectively. OSD Additional Secretary Abdul Hamid has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture while OSD Joint Secretary Swapan Kumer Sarker has been made director of the education ministry's Teaching Quality Improvement in Secondary Education project. Three other OSD joint secretaries -- Biman Kumer Saha, Abul Kalam Azad and Nasir Arif Mahmud -- also got their postings. Saha was made member of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) while Azad director of land ministry's strengthening governance management project component built digital land management system and Nasir has been transferred to the shipping ministry as joint secretary.
