During Sheikh Hasina's tenure, several films were banned by the censor board, but now, the industry anticipates a shift in regulations and greater creative freedom.

The Bangladesh Film Censorship Board (BFCB) halted the screening of Raihan Rafi’s film "Omimangshito" on OTT platform iScreen, citing concerns that it was unsuitable for public viewing.

Film “Latika” from Bangladesh has been selected for the short film competition at one of Russia's major festivals, the Moscow International Documentary Film Festival.

The Bangladeshi film "Agantuk" (The Stranger) has been chosen to screen at the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in Australia. Directed by Biplob Sarkar, the film is a collaborative effort with co-producers Rammya Rahim Choudhury, Tazul Haque and himself. This esteemed festival, taking place from August 15 to 25, will showcase the freshest films from across the subcontinent.
