Rape of Minor Girl: Man jailed for life term

A court here yesterday sentenced a man to life term imprisonment in connection with a case for raping a minor girl in Ramu upazila in 2017.

The convict is Mohammad Islam of Kariyaghona village in Chakaria upazila of the district.

Cox's Bazar Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Jebunnesa Ayesha also fined him Tk 1 lakh. In default, he is to suffer one year more in jail.  According to the case statement, the convict raped the seven-year-old victim on January 28, 2017.
