Partners stab fish trader, cut tendons in Chandpur
Partners allegedly stabbed a fish trader and severed tendons of his leg following an altercation over sharing business money in Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday.
They later threw the injured into the Dakatia River beside Chandpur-Raipur road near Chandpur Bridge area.
The victim is Md Shamim, 35, son of Alamgir Hossain of Kaptai upazila in Chittagong district.
Police said Shamim had an altercation with his two business partners--Pias and Nirob -- over sharing business money.
Around 11:00pm on Saturday, they demanded Tk one lakh instead of Tk 30,000.
At one stage, the duo stabbed Shamim with a sharp weapon and threw him into the river after severing two tendons of his left leg.
Meanwhile, Shamim managed to swim ashore and became unconscious.
Babul, a local fisherman, rescued him from the bank of the river and sent him to Chandpur General Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident and trying to arrest the culprits, said Sub-Inspector of Chandpur Model Police Station Shamim.
