Train service restored after 9hrs

Train service between Mymensingh and Netrakona was severed from yesterday noon after a train's engine derailed at Gouripur in Mymensingh.

"Rescuers from Mymensingh Railway Station are trying to resume communications on the route," said Abu Zafar, sub- inspector of Mymensingh Railway police, adding that three trains, including Balaka and Mohua, remained stuck in different stations due to the derailment.

However, the communications were restored around 9:30pm yesterday.
