Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali is expected to attend an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers on January 21 in Jeddah to discuss mob attacks on the Saudi embassy in Tehran and the consulate in Mashhad.

After the attacks, KSA and several other Muslim countries severed diplomatic ties with Iran.

Bangladesh condemned the attacks and called upon Iran to take urgent necessary measures to stop recurrence of these incidents which are in clear violation of the Vienna convention on diplomatic relations and the Vienna convention on consular relations.

The meeting will be preceded by a preparatory meeting of the ambassadors from the OIC member states, the OIC media department said in a statement.

Mahmood is also expected to meet the visiting foreign ministers from the OIC member states and the secretary general of the organisation.
