Gulshan update: ‘Thief’ fled before cops could reach

After cordoning off a building in Gulshan-1 of Dhaka, police say they were trying to catch a thief who managed to run away before the lawmen could get there.

A huge number of policemen were seen cordoning off a building in the diplomatic zone for around a few hours over suspicious activity this morning.

Police had information about suspicious activity inside a building and rushed to the spot, Md Salauddin Bhuiyan, inspector (investigation) of Gulshan Police Station, told The Daily Star.

However, around noon, Gulshan zone police Assistant Commissioner Rafiqul Islam told The Daily Star that police were pursuing a thief who managed to escape before the cops could get there.
