Heidelberg Materials Bangladesh returns to profit in Q3
Heidelberg Materials Bangladesh PLC swung back to profit in the July‑September quarter of 2025 after losses a year earlier, according to its latest financial statements.
The cement maker reported a profit of Tk 92.83 lakh for the three months to September, compared with a loss of Tk 79.60 lakh in the same period of 2024.
Basic and diluted earnings per share stood at Tk 0.16, against a negative Tk 0.14 a year earlier.
For the first nine months of 2025, however, earnings per share fell to Tk 4.11 from Tk 7.31 in the same period of 2024, mainly due to lower margins per ton and reduced sales volume, the company said.
Net operating cash flow per share was negative Tk 9.97 in January‑September 2025, compared with a positive Tk 9.77 a year earlier, reflecting lower sales and collections alongside higher payments and inventory buildup.
As of September 30, 2025, sponsors and directors held 60.67 percent of shares, institutions 28.60 percent, foreign investors 0.04 percent and the public 10.69 percent.
Heidelberg Materials Bangladesh PLC, part of Germany's Heidelberg group, produces RubyCement and ScanCement. With plants in Kanchpur and Chattogram, it expanded capacity steadily since 1998. The global group operates in 50 countries, according to its website.
