Huge current nets burnt
Banned current nets worth Tk 5 lakh were burnt in Sharankhola upazila headquarters on Saturday evening. Amjad Hossain, chief petty officer of Coastguard Sharankhola contingent, said they launched a daylong drive in Bishkhali, Angtihara and Sanyasi areas of Baleswar River and seized 30,000 metres current net. None was arrested in this connection. Later, they burnt the current nets in presence of local people.
