Processionists assaulted by AL men, police
At least 20 BNP leaders and activists were assaulted by police and ruling AL men when they brought out a procession at Hatibandha upazila town on Sunday night.
Seriously injured Hatibandha upazila BNP president Mosharof Hossain, vice president Sadekul Islam, activists Anowarul Islam, Shawn Islam and Razzak Hossain were referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital at night.
Former lawmaker and BNP leader Joynul Abedim told this correspondent that Hatibandha upazila BNP brought out a protest procession as part of their central programme in the upazila town on Sunday evening.
Police first obstructed them on the road and later a group of AL men joined police and launched attack on BNP men.
