Deposition dates deferred

Three trial courts here deferred the dates for recording deposition in the cases for grenade and bomb blasts due to the absence of prosecution witnesses. However, 10 accused, including the outlawed Huji, B chief and his accomplices were produced before the courts, sources said. Huji,B chief Mufti Abdul Hannan, his brother Mofizur Rahman alias Muhibullah, Mufti Mainuddin, Delwar Hossain, Sharif Shahedul Alam Bipul, Saidul Islam, Moulana Abu Sayeed, Abdul Aziz, Moyezul Islam and Sabbir Ahmed were produced before the courts of Additional District & Sessions Judge-V Md. Nazir Ahmed, Additional District Judge-III Manzurul Haque Khan and Chief Judicial Magistrate Abu Syed Dilzar Hossain separately. The courts set new dates for deposition as several prosecution witnesses were absent yesterday. The deposition would now be recorded on 17 May in the case for blast at the house of Dr. Arif Ahmed, where two young men were killed. The deposition in Kodomtoli bus terminal blast case would be recorded on 15 May and deposition in the case for grenade attack on city mayor's function at Tilagarh area will take place on 27 June.
