Arms, bombs seized in Jessore, Chuadanga

Law enforcers recovered two arms and four hand bombs in Jessore and Chuadanga districts on Sunday and arrested two people. Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested two alleged criminals along with a pistol and four bullets from Railway Gate area of Jessore town on Sunday noon, reports our Benapole correspondent. The arrestees were identified as Siddique Hossain and Dewlar Hossain. Rab-6 sources said, a team, on a tip-off raided the area at about 4:00pm while the two were waiting for bus in front of the transport office for going to Dhaka. The team recovered a 9mm pistol and 4 bullets from their briefcase. In Chuadanga, police in separate drives recovered four hand bombs and a shutter gun in Alamdanga upazila on Sunday night. Acting on a secret information, a team of police conducted a drive at the house of local criminal Hekmat Ali at village Sheikhpara at midnight. Searching the house, the law enforcers recovered one bomb and a shutter gun. Hekmat, however, managed to flee the scene. In another drive, the same team recovered three bombs in abandoned condition from in front of Hardi Degree College gate in the upazila headquarters.
