Abducted boy rescued, 1 held
Sadar police on Sunday rescued an abducted boy and arrested the alleged abductor at Medni village in Sadar upazila.
The arrestee was identified as Firoz Mia of Saturia village under Belabo upzila in the district.
Officer in-Charge (OC) of Netrakona Sadar PS Abdul Karim said Firoz Mia on Sunday morning abducted his cousin Faisal, 6, son of Soharab Mia of same village following dispute over a piece of land.
After abduction, Firoz brought Faisal to Sadar upazila by a motorbike and confined him to a house of one Liton Mia at village Medni.
On a secret information, a police team led by OC Abdul Karim, raided the house of Liton Mia and rescued the abducted boy.
The also arrested alleged abductor Firoz Mia from the spot.
The OC said that Firoz Mia confessed to abducting his cousin for establishing his right on a piece of cultivable land belonging to his maternal uncle.
A case was filed with Belabo police station.
