A rickshawpuller is killed after a statue of a tiger at Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar intersection collapsed on him.

A rickshawpuller was killed after a statue of a tiger at Dhaka's Karwan Bazar intersection collapsed on him early today.

The identity of the man could not be ascertained immediately, however, police identified him as a person in the mid-thirties.

Mohammad Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Kalabagan Police Station, told The Daily Star that the statue of the tiger crashed on the man around 3:45am.

The victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead, he added.
