To Chief Adviser
While the news item has given out a list of power projects being taken up, or going to be taken up; unfortunately as the popular Persian saying goes "Hanoz Dehli dur ast" ( Delhi is very far).
These units may provide power to the grid earliest by end of 2007, if we are lucky. Overhauling and rehabilitation of worn-out power plants now out of service cannot be expected to be done by issuing fiats! If we try to push through this work; presumably done earlier by the BNP; we will only act in haste and repent at leisure again.
This is based on my over thirty years hands on experience in plant and equipment maintenance including steam and gas-engine power plants in both the public and private sectors.
All in all, we are in thick soup; and it is getting thicker day by day!
Dissatisfaction is OK; but what we need is highest level executive action.
