Well prepared Indians

I have been reading in the Indian newspapers about the preparations taken by the Indian team. The Indians took their loss in the World Cup very seriously and they prepared for the series against Bangladesh quite well. Both the Indian media and the public badmouthed their cricketers quite a bit. The financial future of most of the players is at stake. Players likeTendulkar, Sehwag, Dhoni, Dravid etc. earn crores of rupees from endorsements. Beating an opponent like Bangladesh in both form of the game, and especially in one-day cricket will produce big pay checks and glory this time for the Indian team. This means trouble for Bangladesh.

On the other hand, I see Habibul Bashar using his mouth as usual before playing a single game in the series.

I am not trying to bash him on his contribution to Bangladesh cricket. His average of 30+ in Test cricket is quite decent. His one day average could have been much better but it is still good enough for him to make the team. He has immensely contributed for Bangladesh cricket and all the talks about getting rid of him should stop at this critical time.

However, I have an important piece of advice for Bashar. Let our performance do all the talking. Unfortunately, Bashar does not have proper understanding of that concept. He is as usual giving the opposition ample motivation by his rhetoric. This is a serious mistake and he should not make comments about how good we are before the series has even begun. Whatmore leaving Bangladesh is a distraction as well. This is my thought on this tour. We just defeated India in the World Cup. The Indian Cricket Board refused to invite us for a tour of India in the past because they thought we were not good enough for public interest and revenue. But Indians were dying to tour Bangladesh after the loss in the World Cup. The Bangladesh cricket authorities agreed on the tour instantly.

In my opinion, we should have organised this tour at a much later time at our convenience.
