Who may replace Prof. Iajuddin as CA
Therefore, it is high time that all parties should seriously think who should be the successor to Prof. Iajuddin. It is unlikely that some retired judges acceptable to the 14-party alliance will be accepted by the 4-party alliance. Then who is the most acceptable to all parties? My suggestions are: (1) the current senior most Justice of the Supreme Court (immediate junior to the Chief Justice as the Chief Justice has already made himself controversial), (2) Prof. Yunus, (3) the current Governor of Bangladesh Bank, (4) former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Atiqur Rahman or (5) former President Shahabuddin Ahmed. Any of these five choices may be a compromise to all parties. This may not be constitutional, but constitution is for the people, it is not the Bible. It can be bypassed for the people's interest based on all parties' agreement. My suggestion to all who demand Prof. Iajuddin's departure --the demand should be "Prof. Iajuddin to be replaced by any of the five choices".
Finally, I would like to say a few words about the Prof. Yunus's coalition formula. Under the current circumstances, I support Prof. Yunus's coalition formula except the inclusion of any war criminal and urge all parties to consider it seriously.
