Iraq situation
Three years after attacking Iraq, US President G.W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair have realised that the invasion was a mistake. Till June 23, 2006 more than one hundred thousand Iraqi civilians and more than 2,500 American soldiers lost their lives and thousands of Iraqi people have been injured. The country has been devastated; Iraqi children are dying in hospitals due to want of medicines and foods. Still every day scores of people are losing their lives from violence, no end is in sight.
It is estimated that three million dollars was wasted on Iraq and there is no accountability of nine billion dollars allotted for reconstruction of the war torn country.
I am feeling very sad, what a wastage of money for destruction. That huge amount of money could have been used for the welfare of human beings. I do not know if these people who have got power will ever realise it and use it for peace and stability in the world.
