Civil Society and its adversaries

Well, firstly, now that the gentleman at the helm of the organisation that is entrusted to attract investment to Bangladesh has gone on with such utterances and actions to suppress those who dare to be critically engaged with his sacrosanct views, and thereby has uplifted the image of the country so significantly, one can only hope that now at last all those foreign investors, who were fence- sitting and second- guessing till now, will start to invade Bangladesh with their investment proposals being inspired by such good image. Or is it?

Secondly, anyone attending any seminar/briefing/discussion in Bangladesh --from now on please better bewares. If you are sitting there and any critical view has been expressed, you may end up being the target of some people simply because you have been there and have not immediately disassociated yourself from what has been said, and also not said.
