Our daughters might become that mom one day. Like we hear the story of our grandparents how a plenty of fresh things they used to get from our environment, which seem a dream to us today.

When we have abundance of something, we tend to misuse it. The photograph of a big tree being cut near Sheraton Hotel made me believe that the authorities of our country are completely insensitive to our environmental needs. They behave like medieval rulers (even a king is accountable to his subjects, not our government) and they think this country is their private property.

We, the citizens, are also responsible for making these monsters. We failed to choose the right leaders for our beloved motherland and we are letting these power holders do whatever they like.

I know there is no use asking these people to be on the right track, but the media has a role to play in this regard. For example, you can spare some space to encourage our people to take care of the environment whatever way they can. A small reward can be announced for the best garden, if you really want to draw people's attention.

We must do something to protect the environment. Otherwise, one day we will have to carry our own oxygen tank behind us for breathing freely. Not an amusing proposition!
