Fellaini cried over Moyes exit

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has revealed he was reduced to tears when he heard David Moyes had been dismissed by the Premier League club.

Fellaini was signed by Moyes at Everton in 2008 and followed him to Old Trafford in a £27.5 million ($42 million) deal when the Scot was hired to replace Alex Ferguson as United manager in 2013.

But Moyes endured a miserable spell with United and was sacked last April, just 10 months into a six-year contract.

It was a huge blow to Fellaini, who also suffered a dismal first season at Old Trafford, because the Belgium midfielder had grown close to Moyes during their time together.

He was overcome with emotion on the day the Moyes was sacked following 24 hours of intense speculation that he would be relieved of his duties.
