- “If the chief of illegal Awami League, Sheikh Mujib, is released, then the rationalities of military activities in East Pakistan will go in vein,” PDP Chief Nurul Amin.
- A US ship carrying food to East Pakistan is destroyed by mine at Chalna in Ganges delta region. Also a British ship was destroyed by bombs at Chalna port, BBC reports say.
- Tejgaon Peace Committee congratulates the new cabinet. Jamaat’s deputy Ameer Maolana Abdur Rahim convened the ceremony. Mahbubur Rahman, the chairman of the committee, reads out citations in the honour of the new ministers.
- Ghulam Azam calls for a meeting of East Pakistan Jamaat-e-Islami. The agendas of the meeting are the current situation of the country, by-election and work flow of the activists. The meeting will be held at Nakhalpara party provincial office.
- AT Saadi, representative of Pakistan in UNGA says that the army intervention was inevitable due to the activities of the separatists. The movement of “Bangladesh” is just a conspiracy against Islam, he says.
