- The basic problems with East Pakistan will not be solved without a political resolution, says UN Secretary General U Thant. He urges the citizens of the world to help about the matter, a BBC report says.
- Pakistan army started a ‘genocide’ in East Pakistan, this statement is a sheer lie, says PDP Chief Mahmud Ali in Karachi. Because military operations do not create any such incident so that a strong term like ‘Genocide’ has to be used, he adds.
- By-elections will be held for 78 seats in East Pakistan National Council and for 105 seats in Provincial Council from November 25 to December 9, Pakistan Election Commission declares.
