  • East Pakistan Women’s Council holds a protest rally and procession in the capital demanding lowering the prices of commodities and for ensuring free faring of women. The demonstrators paraded the procession to the building of provincial governor and staged protests. A delegation from the demonstration met with the provincial governor and tried to place a memorandum. However, they failed. East Pakistan Women’s Council’s leader poet Sufia Kamal chaired the protest rally. Mrs Hamida Rahman spoke in the occasion. She expresses concern on the price hike of essentials and demanded the authority’s immediate attention on ensuring the security of women and flood problems. Matia Chowdhury also spoke at the rally. She complains that the authority played dumb while arresting students and political leaders and activists. She demanded ensuring effective steps to check price hike. In her speech, poet Sufia Kamal urges the women to unite by grouping up in everywhere to ensure the rights of the women.
  • Sindh National Federation General Secretary Ahmad Khan Jamili urges national council members to announce Pakistan as a multi-state nation in the governance policy. In a statement, he demands that all the states be given full autonomy in the governance policy. He says, Sindh, Beluch, Pashtu and Punjabi should be declared the state language of Pakistan and the state language in concerned provinces.
