Tk 2cr foreign medicines seized at Dhaka airport
Customs Intelligence seized 208 kilogramme foreign medicines worth Tk 2 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The medicines, used mainly for treatment of obesity, fungal infection, cholesterol, heart failure, blood thinner, pain relief and migraine, were brought by air freight in violation of import policy, said Umme Nahida Akter, assistant director of custom intelligence.
RB Construction and Engineering carried the medicines from Egypt by flight EY258 on March 5, she said.
In last three weeks, the customs intelligence seized a total of 400kg illegal medicines, she added.
